I majored in educational medium & library science as a undergraduate, and finished my master degree in instructional technology in the same department of Tamkang university.
Currently, my academic interest is the employment of information technology in the enhancement in learning. It was because I followed my advisor professor Shu's project when I was graduate student in 1993. She lead me into the IT(instructional technology ) filed and taught me how to apply both situated theory and instructional design in the development of educational software.
I work as a full-time instructor in the Department of Information Communication at Leader University for ten years since 2000 . I used to be a librarian in NanHwa university form 1997 to 2000. The courses most of I taught were related to information technology, such as Java programming language, database, use Dreamweaver for web design, flash and mass communication and so on. Most of these software I taught to student are learning by myself. Because they are quit different from those I learned in ten years ago.
I don't have too much experience in using the new technology in class instruction. The Most I have used were PowerPoint and Captivate. Because I hope students can catch the points or follow the operation procedure step by step easier. Also, MSN is often used for informal discussion.
The reason I am taking this course is to get to know what is hot in the field of instructional technology in America. Maybe some of the technology I already use for my personal purpose. But I know there are still a lot of functions I did not use and never use them for my teaching. So it will be great and useful for me absolutely.
